Abstract
Multiphase flow modeling has been used to calculate pressure and temperature profiles, gas/fluid compositions, and production rates for a specific deepwater production system. These predicted values, along with proper considerations on application and handling of corrosion inhibitors, have led to development of a laboratory test protocol. Several commercial corrosion inhibitors have been evaluated using this protocol, which is designed to limit the number of products that will pass all of the relevant tests.
