The interpretation of depositional environment and prediction of reservoir properties in oil fields, where there are no cores, have always been characterised by a lot of subsurface uncertainties. The interpretation of the environment of deposition on the basis of log signature alone increases these uncertainties. This paper shows how the uncertainties in interpreting the environment of deposition were reduced by the integration of data from different sources. It also describes how the interpretation was used in predicting the reservoir properties across the field, thereby enabling the successful modelling of two reservoirs in a field that did not have core data.
