Safah field located 415 kilometers west of Muscat, The Sultanate of Oman, produces 42 degree API oil from the Upper Shuaiba Formation of Lower Cretaceous age. The paper describes how the operator has cost effectively developed the so called "marginal" field where the average well produces about 250 BOPD. The paper presents the geology and reservoir parameters along with the reservoir simulation results used to determine the well spacing. It reviews the on going gas injection project as describes the future development plans.
