Horizontal Drilling as a new technique is being used in the tight reservoirs of Upper Zakum Field as means of Productivity enhancement. This work is concerned with the reservoir engineering involvement in the selection of the Horizontal Well Location, calculation of expected productivity increase and the analysis of transient test data. The state of art is reviewed, different methods are evaluated and compared with field results. Problems encountered during the interpretation of three tests and areas of concern which need-still-further development are highlighted.
