The primary objective of this technical manuscript is to introduce a brand-new concept of IPCT (Intelligent Pressure Control Technology) and illustrate its improved applications in drilling operation including managed pressure drilling (MPD) and Underbalanced Drilling (UBD).

Meanwhile, the article also highlights IPCT's multiple benefits and advantages by adopting electric-powered control systems and actuator, making detailed comparison with traditional hydraulic-powered drilling system, which rely heavily on hydraulic equipment like hydraulic actuator, hydraulic Rotating Control Device (RCD) coupled with extensive surface equipment for pressure management.
