Abstract
A new principle, that of Volume Equalization has been applied to characterize the flow behavior of Nitrogen-HPG-Gel foams. Large scale vertical and multi -diameter horizontal experiments were conducted at two different temperatures within both the laminar and the turbulent flow regimes. Pressure loss calculation procedures independent of pipe size and inclination were investigated. Instead of the previous available turbulent pressure drop correlations a fluid mechanics description of drag reduced foam flow was applied making use of a new form of Reynolds number.
