Abstract

Most of the gas wells operated by PDO in the Sultanate of Oman suffer from liquid loading during their production life cycle. Artificial lift or deliquification measures are key to mitigate liquid loading to maximize the capacity and ultimate recovery of these gas wells. A wide range of deliquification measures exist of which the performance depends on individual reservoir, well and surface parameters. This paper describes the use of an integrated production and economic forecasting tool that compares the technical and economic performance of different (combinations of) deliquification measures to select future deliquification scenarios.
