ABSTRACT
In 1975 Deutsche Texaco AG initiated a polymer pilot flood in a part of the Oerrel field. The main objective was to plug off a zone of high permeability in the reservoir and hereby improve the areal sweep efficiency of flood operations. A second polymer project was brought into operation in a part of the homogeneous Hankensbuettel field in 1977.
In this paper flood performance is described. Both floods are considered successful and polymer application was extended to larger parts of both fields.
