For the purpose of improving water flooding development after a high - water-cut period, a classification of reservoir pore structures is presented in this paper based on the practice of Xinglongtai Oil field. Meanwhile. the relationship among depositional facies. diagenesis and pore structure is discussed. The pore structure is closely linked with depositional facies and petrophysics, showing the characteristics of getting worse m uniformity of pore throats along with improving rock properties as the effect of depositional conditions and diagenesis. Pore structure is critical to the vertical and horizontal water washing efficiency. Thus- the study on pore structures would be an important subject in improving water washing efficiency and mobilizing the remaining oil potential of pay zones during the middle and late periods of development.
