Diarrhea and gastro-enteritis are a frequent problem on board rigs and in remote seismic crews all over the world.

To date, there is no rapid and easy solution to this problem except to bring water samples back to sophisticated laboratories in large cities for analysis.

Schlumberger has supported development of an on-the-spot, easy-to-use, convenient and efficient method of testing water in order to ensure its bacteriological sterility. This technique can be performed rapidly and precisely by any rig or camp personnel after a short 15 minute video training session.
