Stress, personality and accident involvement were assessed in one-year study of offshore personnel. Results indicate response to stress relates to occupational status, installation type, location and size. Accident involvement has an adverse impact on the longterm wellbeing of the individual. Personality mediates in the stress-accident process. Certain styles of behaviour are associated with increased accident involvement and poor wellbeing. It is recommended that more attention is paid to human-factors assessment offshore.
