An extensive QRA study has been performed to assess the level of risk to the local population presented by Brunei Shell's onshore facilities and to identify suitable areas for future BSP and urban expansion.

The results of the study are presented in the form of individual risk contours plotted onto maps of the local area and societal risk F/N plots, the risk contributing factors are identified leading to the specification of effective risk reducing measures; the major hazard is shown to be associated with the use of liquid chlorine.
