It Is important for multi-national companies to control health hazards through the application of consistent health standards at operating sites throughout the world. To aid in this effort, an industrial hygiene program audit manual has been developed which lists criteria for a comprehensive industrial hygiene program, and includes specific questions to assess the compliance of site programs with the criteria. The manual is suitable for site self-audits or site audits by an external person/ team. This papef will describe in more detail the manual format including discussion of specific sections/topics of special interest, and some methodology considerations in performing an audit. In addition, findings from an audit of a remote drilling platform are interspersed in the appropriate sections.
