3-D Seismic has had a major impact on the performance of E&P operations in Amoco. In the last four years, 3-D has helped improve reserves replacement, improved exploration finding rates and volumes, positively affected field reserves revisions. This paper discusses the performance improvements that 3-D has brought to the company and suggests ways for measuring the impact of emerging technologies.
