Methods of removing arsenic compounds from natural gas and accompanying water to meet environmental requirements are discussed. Purification methods to remove arsine are evaluated and some are given preference. Data about process emissions from existing technologies are adopted. Most interesting patents including pyrolysis, adsorption, and absorption are listed. Potassium permanganate method is chosen as the most appropriate method to remove arsenic compounds from natural gas. Batch process to treat reservoir water and to regenerate the aresenic-saturated solutions and suspensions of potassium permanganate is recommended. The chemistry and thermodynamics of water conditioning process is presented.
