At the beginning of 2019, the Reliability and Integrity team of the Upstream vice presidency at YPF embarked on the development and implementation of the methodology to manage well integrity (WIM). For months, manuals, procedures, templates, and matrices were created to identify and calculate risk in critical wells. The methodology covered the measurement of variables, impacting formulas adapted to the context of each well.

YPF, with a base of more than thirty thousand wells, half active and five thousand highly critical, sought to simplify the management of records and variables. Digitalization became YPF's bet during one of the biggest pandemics in our recent history.
