This paper presents the results of laboratory tests on a unique combination of polymer, stabilizer and crosslinking chemicals that provide the extended thermal stability necessary for high temperature massive hydraulic fracturing. This fluid system was designed to improve the efficiency of MHF operations, With this thermally stable fluid, treatments may be designed using 20% less polymer than conventional fluids. The lower polymer loading helps lower costs and reduces the possibility of damage due to polymer residue.
