A cost effective approach is outlined which can be used to remove the need to reinject associated gas (5 to 100 MMCF/D) on small, marginal, or remote North Sea oil fields by using a new application of a proven Fischer-Tropsch refining process to convert the gas into a high value synthetic crude oil which can be blended into the main crude oil stream. Additional offshore refining of the blended crude oil stream can be used to enhance its market value (by about $3/Bbl) for minimal additional cost (<$0.1/Bbl).
