This paper outlines a toolkit for integrated availability and maintenance analysis of complex offshore field installations. The potential savings in capital and operating expenditures can be large by implementing effective and systematic analysis methods. This paper focuses especially on implications on maintenance costs and costs associated with production loss. Cost-effective availability performance of the platform requires therefore consideration to reliability performance, maintainability performance and maintenance support performance. The nature of these methods implies application from early field planning into operational stages of a field development.
