The Oseberg Field comprises an accumulation about 500 × 106 Sm3 of oil and 60 × 109 Sm3 of free gas located in seven partly communicating reservoirs. Oseberg experiences full scale gas injection supplied by water injection in some reservoir units. Production experiences and observation wells have confirmed gravity stable displacement at high offtake rates. History matched simulation models indicate that oil recovery above 60% may be obtained in the main reservoir unite. An extensive horizontal well program will give important contributions to a prolonged plateau period and high recovery.
