Reperforating is an accepted method for reducing near wellbore pressure drop. This paper details an evaluation of the effects of reperforating upon reservoir parameters and flow profiles in depleted gas wells; the basis for the evaluation was a programme of reperforating carried out during 1985 by Amoco (UK) Exploration Company in the Indefatigable gas field in the Southern North Sea. In addition to increasing well deliverability, the aim of the programme was to use testing and production logging both before and after reperforating to evaluate its effectiveness. Two new techniques which were used are also described. These are the use of a pressure gauge in combination with a strip perforating gun, and a new design of overboard boom as part of the surface equipment.
