Today there are nearly one thousand Progressing Cavity (PC) pumps dewatering coalbed methane wells in Domestic US basins. The versatile PC pump design has enhanced methane production in both high and low water producing wells with easily adjusted pumping rates as well as the ability to handle solids and gaseous fluids. Continued product enhancement, comparatively lower capital expenditures and higher operating efficiencies have made the PC pump a viable lift method in coalbed methane extraction.
