Abstract
A numerical procedure for determining proppant schedules for hydraulic fracturing treatments has been devised. This procedure uses previously developed fracture conductivity distribution curves1 to minimize the amount of proppant used in a treatment. Coupling this procedure to a fractured-well simulator and a fracturing treatment economics model allows the optimization of different aspects of a fracturing treatment.
