Abstract
Over the last decade, there have been significant advances made in the geophysical processing and reservoir simulation techniques. With these advances comes a rapidly increasing computing power requirement -- especially in the areas of 3-dimensional seismic processing and reservoir simulation model studies. In response to this need for high computing power is the development and application of supercomputers for the energy problem solution. The use of supercomputers is now required in both the exploration for and the exploitation of oil and gas worldwide.
