As drilling operations penetrate deeper horizons in the Appalachian Basin, wellbore construction faces new challenges. Larger and deeper hole sections, higher temperatures, higher formation pressures, and naturally flowing high rate gas zones result in wells that cannot be properly or safely completed with conventional Appalachian Basin cementing techniques.
