The development of Kerr-McGee Oil (U.K.) PLC. 's first North Sea operation has provided an opportunity to install modem cost-effective systems in accordance with recent North Sea development philosophy. A greenfield site in Aberdeen provided the chance to install the operation from the cabling upwards and to select a local area network configuration to suit our particular needs. This paper describes how all of the required voice and data systems were installed successfully in a narrow time frame.
