Abstract
As the coiled-tubing industry develops and begins to use higher-grade tubing materials, several special considerations must be addressed for safer operations. Tubing material properties have reached 120Ksi yield strength (YS). This paper will address some special considerations for safely operating with higher-grade material, including proveup of the tubing material, surface equipment issues, and BOP considerations. Several tests concerning these issues have been conducted to verify proper operating conditions and equipment.
