ABSTRACT
The Gryphon field is a North Sea Eocene/Palaeocene reservoir at the forefront of a new generation of complex oilfields requiring innovative analysis methods for successful evaluation and development planning. In order to correctly simulate reservoir and production complexity in an efficient and rapid manner, novel reservoir characterisation techniques and methodologies of building a full-field model have been utilised and are described below. To alleviate both gas and water coning problems and optimise recoveries, it is planned that horizontal wells will be an integral part of field development.
