ABSTRACT
A mathematical model requiring a minimum of input data can predict the variation of downhole density and hydrostatic pressure in static drilling fluids. It is a general model for oil and water base drilling fluids and completion fluids. Analysis of the model allows several important conclusions to be drawn about the density behavior of drilling fluids downhole.
