Abstract
The challenges currently faced by the E&P industry are unparalleled. Subdued hydrocarbon prices and an increased pressure to minimise cost structures provides a convincing reason for managers to implement effective portfolio management technologies. The objective of this paper is to provide a practical portfolio management framework which balances the often conflicting requirements of managing short term financial stresses and long term strategic growth.
