The mechanism how polyacrylamide (PAM) influences the properties of produced liquid were investigated by means of the measurements of microscopic properties of oil-water interface. The resluts show that the presence of PAM results in significant increases of membrane strength and electrical property of oil-water interface, and decrease of interfacial tension. The tendencies of the variation were analysed and some suggestions on how to improve separation efficiency were proposed as well.
