Abstract
Water shutoff and sweep efficiency improvement in crude oil production from high temperature fractured granite basement reservoirs, as White Tiger, have been poorly studied. For finding gels stable in severe working conditions like high temperature, high-pressure etc, variety compounds of polyacrylamide with inorganic and organic crosslinking agents have been tested. The effects of temperature, polymers, crosslinkers, brine salinity and pH on gelation and stability were found.
Base on the obtained results, proposed by the authors gelant compositions could be effectively applied for water shutoff in production wells of high temperature fractured granite basement reservoirs.
