This paper introduces the theory of a learning organization and management of change followed by their practical applications in the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations(ADCO).

The paper highlights the meaning of a learning organization and the management of such organization together with the measurement criteria necessary to measure progress. It also explores why some change initiatives have failed to provide the necessary results.

Furthermore, distinctive policies and practices that are responsible for the success of learning organizations and the forming of the five building blocks of a learning organization, namely systematic problem solving, experimentation with new approaches, learning from their own experiences and best practices of others in addition to dissemination of knowledge, is introduced.
