Rima cluster of fields are located in Oman, around 600 km South of the Capital Muscat. The cluster of fields have been producing Oil for over 40 years. The initial production was from medium-API fields around 33° API with 9 cP viscosity. Over the years, numerous discoveries were made in the area that led to increased production from heavy oil fields as well as low-sour oil.

Many of the connected fields in the cluster are mature, and thus have high water cuts, casually crossing 95% Water Cut (W/C). The fields are connected to a central processing facility (CPF) through a complex network of pipelines and headers. The CPF processes the incoming gross fluids, separating oil and water, dehydrating the crude for export, and partially treat water for bulk removal of oil in water (OiW).
