Non Accidental Deaths (NAD) among contractor workers is a common occurrence within Oil & Gas Industry especially in remote areas. Generally, NAD events involve aggravation of chronic illnesses/conditions and these illness/conditions are, unlike injuries, not always apparent. Historically, NAD events were rarely investigated as no linkage with work relationship or gaps in HSE management system was considered. This paper highlights the extent of NADs, scope of investigation & analysis of data, and identification of opportunities to improve medical emergency response and awareness among workers.
