A study on the hydrodynamic roll response of typical FPSO and LNG hull-forms near resonance in beam seas is presented. A 2-D finite volume method-based Navier-Sokes solver is applied to analyze the flow around the hull sections. The effect of hull geometries and the bilge keel widths on roll-decay motion as well as on transient roll response of hulls in regular waves for a range of wave frequencies is analyzed.
