This paper describes experiments in which temperature, strain, and acceleration measurement based on fiber optic sensor were performed and verified at the cryogenic temperature conditions found in LNG Cargo Containment Systems (CCS). Also demonstrated was the possible feasibility for a Smart Sloshing Monitoring Capability using fiber optic sensors either integrated in a "Sloshing Reduction Floating Mat" and/or" Cargo Containment System". Further, we have reviewed, investigated and proposed the Weathervane Based Smart Sloshing Monitoring & Predictive Control function that is able to monitor environmental external forces, monitor and/or control the 6DOF motion of the hull, and also a Smart Sloshing Monitoring System that can monitor response on the full scale LNG CCS.
