Today's vessels are more complicated than ever and a solid safety system on board is very important. At a minimum the following are either required or should be considered: Fire Detection; Fire Suppression; Carbon Monoxide Detection; Gas Detection; System for any other specific characteristics.
Fire Detection
Fire detection is especially important on larger vessels with multiple accommodation spaces and the growing number of accessories that generate heat. Boats are now loaded with electronics and batteries in addition to the engines and control systems. Also, the new U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter M regulations now require a fire detection system on many work boats, both new and used.
