This paper addresses the typical functions and organization of a revitalization project for any cruise ship company including the general corporate requirements that define the project. The role of the Revitalization management team and the relationship of this group to the corporate organization, vendor base and shipyards is explained. The paper focuses on the process of revitalizing a modern cruise vessel that has been in service for many years. The organization and the functions of the management team are provided along with the interfaces and roles of the shipboard personnel. Typical inspection requirements and inspection processes are discussed. The paper illuminates the requirements of the revitalization process from inception up to and including re-delivery.
