Specially constructed composite tubular structures, costing less than the baseline steel hardware being replaced, have proven to be extremely damage resistant solutions for maritime applications including lifeline stanchions currently installed on aircraft carrier flight decks, and deck edge safety net frames under development for use on all Navy ships with helicopter flight decks.
