This paper aims to present a new Bouguer Anomaly map for the Santa Lucía Basin and to introduce an empirical correlation between Bouguer Anomaly values and basement depths obtained from the study of exploration and stratigraphic well data.
The analysis concludes with a straightforward gravity model that considers three subsurface layers: sediments, basalts and basement. This model is created over a regional 2D seismic line, using average rock densities taken from well logs. The results of the herein presented correlation and the density model show good correspondence between the gravity response and the main structural features of this basin basement.
