ABSTRACT

Traditionally seismic facies analysis need to employ a set of seismic attribute that are related to geologic heterogeneities. However, the seismic attribute map can be presented on different color code, which will cause multiple solutions of seismic facies interpretation. The major superior of 3D Convolutional neural networks (CNN) is its spatial perception and automatic feature extraction compared with other supervised classification methods. In this work, we will combine the seismic stratigraphic slice technology with 3D-CNN model to complete the seismic facies analysis and directly get seismic facies classification result in actual oilfield. The results shows the method is sufficient to implement seismic facies analysis.
