ABSTRACT

The carbonate rocks are complex due to the heterogeneity derived from a great variety of constituents, textures, digenetic characteristics and varied porous geometries in which it affects the quality of the rock as an oil reservoir. Correlating quantitative data with qualitative data has been a challenge over the years and the subject of much research. Therefore, the relationship between porosity and permeability depends on intrinsic parameters of the rock, characterizing pore space and pore shape. This paper shows petrophysical characterization of two different techniques in order to correlate permeability to porosity and other image parameters through multivariate analysis.
