ABSTRACT

We present a domain decomposition method, i,e, a discontinuous Galerkin pseudospectral time domain algorithm to simulate wave propagation in 3-D full anisotropic elastic media. An exact upwind flux is first proposed to resolve the accurate coupling of multiple domains in the nonconformal discontinuous Galerkin framework. We simplify the eigenvalue problem in the Riemann solution, and introduce the generalized wave impedance with more physical insight. Validations and verifications demonstrate the accuracy, flexibility, and stability of our method.
