ABSTRACT

Shell Brasil 4D Seismic Project (Brazil 4D) is the first ever Shell Brasil seismic acquisition. With a floating production and storage and offloading system (FPSO) sitting midway between the Field A and Field B Fields, the presence of a drilling platform with ongoing diving operations and other activities, the challenges were significant for acquiring good repeatability for the 4D signal, yet good repeatability over Field A & Field B was achieved. Prior to the 2013 well campaign, the 4D seismic was instrumental in placing wells in optimum locations, and adding additional production by identifying shut-in wells that had left behind hydrocarbons which could be re-opened or worked-over during the campaign.
