ABSTRACT

A new near surface seismic logging data Q estimate method is proposed based on Ricker wavelet fast matching pursuit decomposition(MPD). The seismic logging traces may be decomposed into a series of wavelets that match their time-frequency signature, the highest energy wavelet’s central time can be picked automatically and the spectrum of extracted highest energy wavelet can be calculated with analytical expression of Ricker wavelet. By introducing shaping regularization spectrum ratio algorithm at different frequency, the near surface quality factor can be estimated with linear fit method stability.
