To understand the legacy WAZ data limitations of a deep water subsalt target in a GOM play and to determine if new acquisition could provide uplift, we applied an integrated workflow to analyze and optimize acquisition design. The integrated workflow includes data and acquisition geometry analysis, ray tracing, finite difference modeling and migration, data sensitivity and economic analysis. Technical and operational constraints led us to recommend an Ocean Bottom Node survey for this prospect. Modelled comparisons of current geometry with new acquisition geometries suggest potential uplift from new acquisition. Preliminary processing of the acquired OBN data shows improvements which were predicted by the survey design exercise.
