ABSTRACT

The Voigt and Reuss schemes of rotational summation are the two most commonly used methods in geophysics for determining effective elastic properties of composites with sub-measurement scale anisotropy. This study aims to understand how the effective composite properties derived from the two schemes differ and what factors control them.
