ABSTRACT

The first break of seismic data can be used for near-surface velocity model tomographic inversion. And the near-surface investigation data can also be used to rebuild near-surface velocity model. The tomographic inversion method has high capability of global optimization, and the near-surface investigation data have high accuracy in control points. Therefore, the tomographic inversion technique based on near-surface investigation data can give a full play to the advantages of two methods.

The investigation results of near-surface layer can be used for rebuilding initial near-surface velocity model, which contributes to accelerate the speed of iteration convergence. And then, the initial velocity model is iterated by first break tomographic inversion method. The investigation results of near-surface layer keep barely change in measured points during the iterations of tomographic inversion. The tomographic inversion method based on near-surface layer investigation results can obtain accurate near-surface velocity model, which can achieves the reconstruction of complex near-surface velocity model effectively. The accurate near-surface velocity model can be applied in static correction, Q compensation and depth migration from rolling surface to improve the quality of seismic data.
