Summary

Finite difference methods have been widely used in seismic modeling; however, they generally suffer from numerical dispersion problems. Based on the dispersion relation for porous media, we develop the time-space domain and the weighted average time-space domain high-order staggered-grid finite difference (SFD) method to suppress the numerical dispersion. Compared with the conventional SFD method, the proposed method has better accuracy with dispersion analysis and numerical modeling under the same discretization.
